Quartz crystals

Quartz crystals is one of the earths most common minerals. It is also known as a rock crystal or quartz crystal, or branded like the Swarovski crystals.
Quartz crystals was first found high up in the mountains of the Alps.
Ancient people believed it was a form of ice crystals that would never melt. It is said to have cooling powers and is a romantic stone.

It is the most powerful, versatile multi purpose healing stone, particular regarding self esteem and healing the wounds of a neglectful or abusive childhood. This stone will not allow you to wallow in self-pity over that which you can not change. It amplifies the energy of all other stones and increases your emotional energy.

It amplifies, focuses, stores, transforms, energizes. Perfect for focusing affirmations and prayers. Stimulates psychic perception, (watch out for falling feathers), teaches each person at their own level and at their own speed. Empowers. Attunes to all chakras, all signs and all numbers. Keeps you in touch with your spiritual side. Gives you clarity of mind.
Plus they will liven up any necklace or bracelet.

The lovely Rudaksha bead

I must admit I am totally in awe of these beautiful seeds.
I've been raving on about over on my other blog, but since this is now "officially" my jewelry blog I thought I might rave on some more here.
I cannot wait to get started on the necklaces I have in mind using these stunning beads.

These little seeds are alive with powers to help you change your life.
They work on diseases, thoughts, works as a major stress reliever, reduces circulatory problems, makes you feel empowered, fulfilled, abundant and divine. Gives you extreme clarity of mind.
How great is that.

Now it is down to believing what I've read about them, (power of the mind is everything) and try them out for myself. I've worn the bracelets now for about 4 months and I must say I do feel a bit more relaxed and can focus my thoughts more on one thing at a time instead of my thoughts scattering around like flock of birds, like they normally do. Is it down to these little beauties? I do not know, but I'd like to think so :-)

Amethyst

Amethyst is one of my favourite gem-stones.
It is actually a stone traditionally worn to guard against drunkeness and to install a sober mind and is believed to protect you from poison.

However this great gem stone is also used as a dream stone and to help insomnia. I've heard people who put it under their pillow to bring pleasant dreams and if you have a headache you rub this little stone over your forehead to offer relief from headaches.
In the ancient Egypt they used the Amethyst to guard against guilty and fearful feelings.
The amethyst has long been used to open the spiritual and psychic centers, making it one of the great power stones.
When worn in a necklace it is can be used as a meditation aid.

The Amethyst symbolises piety, humility, sincerity and spiritual wisdom.
Amethyst crystal clusters are used in homes to keep the air and life force clean and positive. If you leave it in the window so that it receive sun it is beneficial to heal negativity in the home. If you place it in the moonlight everyone in your house will feel calmer.
It is a gemstone often worn by healers as it has the power to focus energy. Amethyst helps overcome fears and cravings. It serves as an antidote during poisoning cures diseases of the skin, strengthens the nervous and endocrine systems, and reduces stress and headache. This gem - an excellent companion of people's intellectual and creative professionals. Amethyst promotes common-sense guides in the right direction and calms the mind, reducing strain.
So there you go, now you know as much about Amethyst's as I do.

Lord Ganesh

I first came to Bali 17 years ago and immediately started a life-long fascination in their belief system.
The Hindu gods all have amazing stories.

One of my favourite gods is Lord Ganesh. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. The elephant head denotes wisdom and his trunk represents Om, the sound symbol of cosmic reality.
Half human, half elephant he reminds us all to keep in touch with our inner child.
This bracelet now belongs to a beautiful blonde girl whom I admire greatly :-)
I've made up two new cabochons of Lord Ganesh that I plan to build into a necklace.
As always the idea in my head I originally start up with when I build a necklace doesn't look like the end result. When I start putting beads together it is like it takes its own life form. Which makes it more interesting. That is why I could never make the same necklace twice. It would make things boring, and life is anything but boring!

A little jealous

This picture was taken last summer.
I can't help feeling just a tad envious of my necklace sunbathing in the warming Indonesian sun.

cabochons

It is my latest addiction when it comes to making necklaces and bracelets.
I spend hours choosing the image I want inside, gluing them and I cannot wait to get started with the stringing and mixing them together with beads.
It makes the necklaces more personal.

New ideas

We've already finished with January and February came faster than I would imagine.
I've been working hard at getting my ideas into realisation and have made up my first batch of cabochons to take with me to our paradise island and start producing the 2012 collection of my necklaces.
I love the images and hopefully so will somebody else as well.
