Bracelets

I've been having heaps of fun lately making new bracelets, getting inspiration from the 1960's pin up girls.
Most of them made with freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, hand made glass beads, etc.

Being Normal is Boring

These last couple of weeks I have been busy with an exclusive order for an upmarket champagne/nail bar. I've made each piece unique and different and this time I've used a velvet rope to tie the necklace together.

Beach In The City

Lately I've developed a real crush for the colour combination of grey/soft pink and wood.
The soft colours works perfectly together and throw in a bit of cream coloured pearls et voila! a new necklace is born.
In this necklace I've used glass beads, coconut beads, Rhodium Silver, pearls, shells and Swarovski crystals.
Hopefully it'll find a stunning neck to hang on!
Happy Monday

The making of a necklace

Before I start stringing my necklaces together I spend a great deal of time putting the right beads, gemstones and colours together.
I have always loved the B-grade pearls. They are all different size, imperfect but for me that is what makes them so interesting. More alive. I feel they add more character to the necklaces that I am making.
I also love working with quartz crystals.
They are the most powerful, versatile, multi purpose healing stone that is.
Attunes to all chakra's, all star-signs and all numbers.
A truly interesting rock to be working with.
Most of the time the end result never end up how I first visualised it.
It is like each necklace takes on its own story and form once I start stringing them together.
Which makes it all more fun.
I never make the same necklace twice,
I believe we are all unique, so why shouldn't our necklaces be unique as well?

On Etsy!

Thanks to the wonderful Claire I am now on Etsy.
She's set up a shop for me and will be selling my bracelets and necklaces on Etsy and some on Asos Market place :-). So now it is available for everyone!
100% handmade by me, and as you know by now I only make one of each so it is also 100% unique.

So if you know anyone's birthday coming up and are at loss for buying presents, check out the byhildi shop on Etsy.

Pictured above is "Purple Reign" and "Goldie Dawn".

Where the fuck am I....

So my latest project is finished.
It is a necklace made with pink jade, quartz crystals, cultivated pearls and glass pearls.

Taking inspiration from what really was another lifetime ago, (teenage summer holidays without parents and with girlfriends in Greece, Cyprus, a receipt for disaster but I guess we've all been there at one stage or another).....

Hoarding and the art of zen

Not two things that will necessary go together.
Over the years I've made necklaces that I just can't seem to part with, however it is quite a significant number by now.
In our bedroom in London they are everywhere, hanging from closet doors, in window ledges, in drawers, in pockets...I've tried to make it a bit more organised by putting them in little bowls:
 where they are collecting dust...

It's beginning to look a little like springtime....

AGATE:
Agate's foster love, truthfulness, courage, bravery, strength, abundance, wealth, good luck, longevity, acceptance, protection, balance, harmony, generosity, security, persuasiveness, agreeability, congeniality, compability, creativity, acquiring wealth.

 Agate's are considered Power Stones.
They are very grounding, solid and stable.
All agate's have excellent protective and healing energy and stimulate analytical capabilities and precision.
Apart from all that, I think the green Agate is a wonderful and lush colours and it reminds me of spring.
